Alaska Mental Health Association
A non-profit community action organization, which works as an advocate on behalf of the mentally ill and the emotionally disturbed. Prevention of mental illness, the promotion of good mental health and the continuous improvement in the care and treatment of the mentally ill are integral parts of the association's mission. Provides state and nation-wide information and referral. Provides educational presentations on mental health related issues upon request. Serves as lead agency for the annual Building Bridges Campaign for Mental Health, which is a consumer empowerment program. Provides depression and panic disorder screening and consultation free and confidentially upon request throughout the year. Provides individual and group therapy for those experiencing depression, anxiety and panic disorder.
